Help on Keyboard layout pleaseFollow

Hello warriors! What kind of keyboard layouts do you use to play with, I'm finding that the standard WASD to move 12345 for hamstring, MS, Rend, charge, attack is rather cumbersome, and having to click WOtF with my mouse loses me a few steps.

I found a simmilar thread on the mage forums, and decided to ask around here as I normally play my war now.

first thing to do is unbind your turning keys a + d. make those your two most common attacks, ms/bt and whatever else.

for tanking i make those heroic and shield block and just spam the hell out of them.

when i'm farming i move shield block and put my find herbs/ores macro there. when i'm running a lowbie instance, i put cleave there.

other than that, just put your most common abilities in the most convenient places.

stances i have bound to shift + mousewheel up/down/click. the mouse browser back button is charge/taunt/intercept. browser forward is devastate.

etc, etc...

I use a Nostromo. I put this in all the threads like this, or at least most of them. Nostromo is a gaming pad that puts a multitude of keys in a compact device that makes gameplay a little easier. There are other gaming pads out there, but I use nostromo n52 and it works great. You can set up macros for whatever you want. (i.e. Shift+B opens all your bags; you can program that into one button to that for you)

It just brings a lot more options to the table instead of trying to use the vastness of your regular keyboard. Thats just my opinion

sounds like i'm selling the saitek...

i am using saitek...
i like this over the nostromo cus the hat switch is much smoother and so you can set this for your movements and free the wasd for actions, or vice versa... use hatswitch for the various actions that is used most frequently...

I bind my stances to F1, F2 and F3.

i remaped my movement keys fo ESDF, it just ergonomically fits my hand better.
doing that makes the QAZ keys available to my pinky finger.

so i put abilities on the following keys
Q, A Z X C V G T H

i use a combo of shift + G T Q A Z for other abilities as well

i swap out abilities depending on what im doing so i wont comment what to put where.

i use the mouse sort of how Axhed does as well.

hope this is usable for you.

I've mapped my shortcuts to ctrl/alt/shift + qwe, asd, zxc. This way I can have a maximum of 9*3 actions right at my fingertips. Warning though, it takes LOTS of practice to remember all those actions :) I've been playing with this configuration for two weeks now, and I still don't remember all the shortcuts. I do have cheatsheet under my monitor, which was very useful on the first week.

Here's how it goes:

CTRL+
Q = Charge
W = Hamstring
E = Heroic Strike
A = Thunder Clap
S = War Stomp
D = Intimidating Shout
Z = Blood Thirst
X = Rampage
C = Pummel

ALT+
Q = Intercept
W = Death Wish
E = Blood Rage
A = Blade Fist (trinket)
S =
D =
Z = Equip 1H + Shield
X = Equip 1H + 1H

SHIFT+
Q = Def stance
W = Battle Stance
E = Berserk Stance
A = Taunt
S = Mocking Blow
D = Challenging Shout
Z = Revenge
X = Sunder Armor
C = Shield Block

There's just one problem with this : moving while using a skill is difficult. Especially "strafe-turning", so you can't PvP with this setup. I use wasd + mouse for moving, constantly switching from w to both mouse buttons, depending on what I need at the moment ( W while I'm selecting a target, then I switch to mouse-run to hit the skill. But if I'm slow to use the skills, I'll easily run past the mob :)
