What level are you trying to attack with your level 60 boar. It might be that since you are level 62 and if you are attacking a level 60 are bellow you are still doing more damage than you pet. You also might want to wait a minute and let your pet get good agro on the enemy and then start attacking to make sure you still get the credit for the kill. I have had the same problem too, so you might want to wait the attack and also make sure that your pet's talents are up to their highest level to make sure it can help keep better agro.

Also, check your spell book and make sure you don't have cower running in the background --it seems pet skillz in the spellbook can be active even if they are not on your pet bar! The bar is just a easy access version of the skillz. elsewise, watch your combat chat - to see what is happening with your pet.

The alternative is that this 62 Hunter has tamed his 2nd pet ever, and it's been a long time since he tamed his 1st pet at level 10, and has forgotten some things about setting up pet abilities.
