I know shields are "armor" but since they go in an off-hand slot does toughness affect them?

NOTE: I'm asking as a paladin, but I know there's a prot talent (I think called toughness) that increases armor from items by 10% for warriors. SO I figured it'd act the same, so I asked here.

Yes.

It's the armor value from anything equipped - it doesn't give a 10% bonus to any armor from buffs (Mark of the Wild) or potions (Stoneshield/Ironshieled).

You would need to spend 5 talent points to get 10% in Toughness,as it is +2% per point spent,to a max of 5 pts.

It affects anything from gear, which is the 8 armor pieces, cloak, shield, weapon, rings, etc...

It doesn't affect Use abilities that raise your armor.

Warrior and Paladin Toughness talents are identical. Druid Bear Form affects the same stuff as Toughness, but to a much greater degree.
