I'm a new Rogue, currently lvl 8, and thought I'd share a funny story that happened last night:
I log on. While my character is still "invisible" on my screen, a lvl 8 warlock next to me does the /rude emote and flips me off then laughs. So as not to be made too much a fool of, I fart on her. She then challenges me to a duel. Fun.
Duel starts- she immediately starts casting Shadowbolt. By the time it's near completion (i think it's a 2 sec cast...been awhile since i played my lock), I have SSed twice and done a decent amount of white damage with my 1.1 dps dagger (lol). The whole time i'm being firebolted by her imp. Shadowbolt lands, it does a laughable and insignificant amount of damage, and i Gouge her. She then says (during the duel!) "OMIGOD WTF ARE YOU DOING TO ME"; I backstab, strike her imp for fun, and Eviscerate, killing her completely. I have roughly 60% of my life.
Being the good sport i am, I bandage her. She then says- "WTF YOU'RE SO UNFAIR!!!!"
I respond - "You challenged me to a duel...you lost and i'm healing you...how is that unfair?"
She said - "OMG IT'S SO OBVIOUS!!@!#" Then runs away.
Did i miss something? What the heck just happened?
Anyone else have any weird/funny stories like this? Feel free to post them. This was just a confusing circumstance.

Lol.. I've had the exact same thing happen to me, although it was a bit later in level and I just kept the duelee stunlocked for 70% of the match.
For some reason newer players sometimes think that you're cheating when you hinder their movement in any way. And by the way you said she was typing, the odds of it being an 11 year old kid are pretty high =P

Yeah. Only two kinds of people type messages while they're being killed
1: Those that don't care about winning the duel
2: Idiots
Kaain is right in saying that a lot of new players immediately throw a tantrum when they don't kill their opponant in a second. If an ability slows them, or anything, then they scream 'cheat'.
The other player might also have chosen a warlock because they heard that they're uber powerful in pvp and such... So when a rogue came and tore them a new space hole, they got their feelings hurt due to the loss.
Although, I have also met some people who pretend to be whiney little punks like that - just so that the other player will stand there and freak out at the psycho. Strange but true sometimes.
As for me, I was playing my hunter once (back in my late level 20's), when I got challenged to duel a mage. I accepted, launched my pet and went to town. After I beat them, they went crazy shouting at me, telling me that I cheated by using my pet in a duel. Apparently I "broke the rules" because I have to melee and not have any "outside help".
I explained how hunters work and they just replied with "then huntrs are cheatrs!"

You'll find that, as you grow in levels, you'll continue to WTFPwn warlocks in PvP. The abilities to stealth, gouge, kidney shot, kick, and vanish are all difficult for them to deal with 1 on 1, especially if you can avoid getting hit with a DoT.
Just politely remind them that your class was designed to be sneaky and underhanded, and if they continue to argue with you, duel them again; there's got to be some validity to the concept of "beating it into their head."

warlocks really are touchy creatures
was waiting with my group outside ZF once waiting more people to join us
was sometime back in the 46's or so
then after a while this smuck undead warlock 48 or so
whos been dueling and beating everyone in sight
challanges me after taunting me like theres no tomorrow
i accept and beat his brains out
he and his lvl ?? bodies then stand looking at me
like i just murdered their entire families
and then starts killing off any ally that comes out of the instance with pvp on
at this point i would like to appologize to any allies
who lost their lives outside ZF that day on the EU kilrogg server
- sorry guys but i have a rep to protect
