I'm a noob mage..just wondering: Is it generally hard to get into groups as a mage? I'm at level 20 (alliance) and am having difficulty even getting into a deadmines run. Maybe it's my server? I love instances (and the mage) and want to make sure I go with a class where it won't be a pain to group up. Thought that maybe there are so many of them, it's a supply & demand thing?

Thanks for any opinions.

I'm currently leveling a Gnome Mage in Westfall now (level 20). I was there last night doing the knuckleduster quest, and the lighthouse ghost quests. While doing those, I got 5 random tells asking if I would like to go. I've heard 3 or 4 shouts "LFM DM run", and my guildies asked me if I wanted to go lol.

All that happened within 2 hours, well my inventory was full, I just dinged 20 so I knew I needed to get spells/armor/ my PORT TRAINING!!!! and AH some stuff. So I turned all of them down. This weekend I'll LFG for DM.

All and all it was prolly just a bad night in Westfall. Which brings up the question.... You're looking for group in Westfall yes? If you shout in Stormwind/Ironforge it'll take 2x as long XD

We are the best dps class so it is generally pretty easy to get into any group. plus we have good cc abilities so if you are even near the low end of the lvl bracket it still is pretty easy to find a group

It really just depends on your server. On your server there may be more mages than on another server, and so on.

However you have great crowd control abilities, and you are a decent DPS. A lot of group leaders will definetly get a mage. However, there is one thing, a lot of group leaders like to get going as fast as possible, and once they have their healer and tank, they don't spend much time looking after that. They mainly fill the group with whatever.

you know... YOU can start the group too.

That way you get exactly what you want.
It may be a pain, but could benefit in the long run.
