Ok, started my hunter again. Used to agi was great because it contributed heavily to our crit, and also doge/armor/ect. I know that bonus was reduced.

So does agi help us still, but it just takes more to equal crit?

Does attack power apply to ranged attack as well?

Also, how important is STR now... I have been told its worth alot.

Also, if you had to choocse between theese two 2-H axes, which is better and why?

(making theese up)

Axe A:
65 DPS
+25 STAM
+25 AGI
+40 Attack Power

or

Axe B:

65 DPS
+25 STAM
+25 STR
+40 Attack Power

Thank you.

The agi axe. Strength is still useless to hunters. Agility jus got nerfed. If you want the exact math ask theo or ipon or someone smarter than me. attack power still applies to ranged attacks.

OK, ty.

Someone told me that STR makes our ranged hit harder, so it was now worth more to us.

I have not really played my hunter in 6 months or so (been on a druid kick), just trying to make good choices, as my weapon is way out of date.

No worries. Mayhap your friend was referring to FFXI? I know I blaspheme mentioning that game, but I used to play, and Rangers on there gained ranged attack from STR.

2 or 3 months ago the way how agi contributed to our stats was changed. It wasn't really a nerf (at least not at level 60 *g*).

Before we gained 2 Attack Power from 1 agi, now it is only 1. However you needed a lot of agi to get 1% crit out of it (52.5 at level 60). That was changed as well (to I believe around 30 at level 60 and 40 at level 70).
So Agi is still your main stat, however other stats, basically attack power, int, crit rating and hit rating are important to us hunters as well.

strength is totally worthless, it gives you 1 attack power, but this does not add to your ranged attack power, so there is no worse stat.

For paladins/warriors/druids in bear form, strength is important, as 1 Str = 2 MAP, and if you have a shield ups how much damage you can block. For rogues/hunters/druids in cat form, 1 str = 1 MAP.
For the first group above, 1 agi = armor, crit %, dodge %, and maybe 1 RAP. For the second group, armor, crit, dodge, and 1 AP.

Notice how for rogues/hunters, you get the same MAP bonus from agility as you do from strength, but from there it gets bigger. If you want to melee as a hunter, Agility is your friend more than strength is. (I am NOT condoning meleeing, just pointing this out) as 100 strength = 100 MAP, but 100 agility = 100 AP (applies to melee and ranged), 2.5% crit at 70, 2.5% dodge at 70 (I think), and some armor (either 100, 200, or 400 can't remember the ratio).

So agility is better than strength, even if you want to be an uber l337 melee hunterz0r. For a hunter who plays like he should, -500 strength is just as good as +5000 strength.

There was something on the WoW site that stated something about str adding to range attack power. Probally what this someone was refering to, and it is prolly just a mistype.

agi is the only thing you should ever get. PvP you might want more Stm as a second stat, PvE your going to want Int (also if you have the talents to increase RAP by your int, that will help there too).

Agi is starting to be useless for me. Right now the armor i wish to have has:

1) Sta |
AP |
crit rating | (this are the stats i wish to have on 70% of my items)

2) Sta or Agi
Intellect
mana regen

Agility grants crit. So when you are buffed, Blessing of Kings also increases your crit.

True, but i think you wont get items that have agility to equal items with only AP and crit rating.

Agility starts to become less and less desirable at higher levels, because when you're 60-70, you start to see more and more armor that grants AP AND Crit rating, and if you look at how much it gives you, it's like having more agility than you usually would on a piece that level. for example: [link=splintermark]http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=27931&locale=enUS;source=live[/link] gives +7 stamina, +16 AP and +12 critical rating. That 12 crit rating is more than you'd get if the bow had +16 agility instead.

Str is still useless. Stamina is cool, because it contributes to your pet's armor. I still love intellect, since it contributes to your mana pool. And from 60-70, I'd rather have MP/5 gear than spirit, because it regains more mana per 5 seconds than having a ton of spirit would do (Lesser Mana Oil FTW... just until I can make Greater Oil, woot)
