How could you give such horrible advice? Okay, they have cute little smiles and they can swim through the air and even talk (Does anyone else find that kind of creepy?), but any pet made out of crackers is not going to last long against any kind of water attack. And don’t even get me started on what effect jumping into water has on them. What in the world was Blizzard thinking?

Any pet will work. Honest. So if you have a favorite pet you’d like to adventure with feel free to go for it. If not, you really can’t go wrong with a boar.

King B can't be the only pet left out there with a faster attack rate - even if it lowers his total dps (which is why I believe Bliz hasn't removed it) I find him to be slighty weaker against fighter types and slightly better against casters due to the disruption each attack causes. Since it's casters that kill me more often than warriors this works well for me, but I don't PvP, and thinking opponents are far different.

I guess what most people are asking is - what and where are the other pets? Is there a prowling wolf that retains its prowl after taming? Or a special bear that has thicker armor? Personally I think it would be cool if there were. I haven't found one - but I am looking - and building quite a skill-set for my hunter to train with while I'm at it.

There should be some slight advantage to people that do their homework, plan ahead, and capture a pet that compliments their play style.

Go tame a deer and you will be good for a long time

King B is a nice choice and I would say is a must have for any hunter. Now remember you have 2 more slots for pets so I'd pick up something that can tank pretty good (I know I'm glad to have a tanking pet in some instances).

Other than that it's as simple as pick up a pet you can stand looking at for 70 levels. They all will tank mobs a couple levels higher than them and they will all add a little bit of damage to the mob as well. Just get something you think looks nice.

A BOAR! OOOOINK!! Now go to petopia - brashendeavors.net.

Or... here's a secret. In the Souther Barrens - he ranges all over - is a Named Silver Eliter giraffe that is in fact TAMABLE! His attack speed is 1.0. His name is Geoffrey. He's also ridable at lvl 20 or so - he doubles as a mount and an attack pet. The best way to find him is to wander around Southern Barrens until you find a ruined building. You know you have the right one because it has a plaque on it - if you hover the mouse over it, you can read it. It says "Toizrus." Not quite sure what that means. Only three hunters have ever tamed Geoffrey the Giraffe on my server. He's VERY rare.

how do i get rid of a pet?
#14 Apr 07 2007 at 12:53 PM Rating: Decent
Find the abandon button.

I believe you click the pet.

Left or right click his icon.

A drop-down menu appears - and I think abandon is there.

Or buy a stable slot (find stable person near the inn, usually outside front door - in Xroads the person is behind the inn). Put it in stables. Now you can get another pet - but you can get your old one if you still want it. (this is how you save a cherished main pet while you tame and use a temporary learning pet, to learn new skills).

See brashendeavors.net - petopia.

Meh, Taurens block the view. Tame a Night Elf female. They got a Pet skill called "dance naked for 13 year olds for gold". Will help you get your professions maxed.

but then you should take the druid specialization for your Night elf, Bear and kittycat in 1, as well as a moneymaker, who doesnt want that?

True, true. A druid would make a more than decent pet, really. Just pray that they are decent geared though, or they can only shapeshift and self-heal so many times during a fight. And during boss encounters, you could let them Oomfire spam to add DPS to ya. No cleave! Yay!

Meh, when you have answered enough "wut iz best pet lol?!?!? plzkthx!!!" you kinda get tired of the same old answers. We usually weave in Petopia at some point in our answers, but the rest is usually just mindless drivel.

You are hereby warned.

Heheh, that's why we had the "Boar Crusade."

It actually is "the best pet" - saving that there is no best pet - and it's a Zen thing.

Do go to Petopia, however. Petopia is not a Zen thing. It's an empirical site w/ good stats. Brashendeavors.net is where you find it.

OINK! Once you go pork, you won't go stork. No, that doesn't make any sense. But the Boar Crusade does need a new motto....

Okay, Once you go Swine, You're feelin' fine.

Once you go pig you'll be twice as big.

Once you go hog you'll ... drink eggnog... no - ride the log - no no no - drop the dog? No.

Once you go sow, you'll pwn and how!

YES! THAT'S IT! EPIPHANY!!!!

My owl, Nicodemus, is the best pet. You can't have him.

Honestly... get a boar. I have a level 70 boar and I open up every shot with aimed shot, when I crit i get to over 3,000+ Crit hits, and it STILL does not pull aggro off the boar...

The charge and the +550 attack power on the 1st hit is such a aggro magnet.... I just cant pull aggro off him.

Oh and I am full Marksman for anyone about to say: "Your Beast Mastery, thats why you dont pull aggro"
