1-h and Shield or 2-h for Enhancement

This question has probably been asked a lot, but would it be better to dual wield or use a 1-h and a good shield? I know that I can do more damage with a 2h, but will I be able to survive without a shield? And also, does Windfury work good with 1h and shield? Thanks guys and gals

I am a lvl 56 Shaman and to answer your question it depends on what you are doing and how you like to play. If i am soloing I much prefer dual wielding or two handed axe with fire enchant on one or fire and icy enchant for dual. This gives you alot more fire power to lvl faster.If you are doing a support role Shield and weapon is best.You live longer but to me that is really boring. I prefer to mix it up.The trick is to have both which makes you more versital and thats what a shammy is all about.

have it all be prepared, i switch weapons in combat if i need to sometimes I am tanking just too much in a fight not to be wearing a shield, well at lower lvls anyway, now i switch between dmg and healing gear =P

but it is nice to have a good shield, 2 good 1h weapons, and a good 2h cause each have thier uses, you just need to leatrn how to use them.

If you're going to spec deep Enhancement I suggest going for the DW approach.

As for your question, yes you can still survive. You just need to learn when to heal and how to pick your pulls. A lot easier than it sounds.
