I have been running a lot of instances lately with my 66 pally. Mainly Mana Tombs, Underbogs, Slave Pens and occasionally Ramparts. Anyway, I usually find my self being the main healer.
Earlier today I ran 'Pens where I main healed quite efficiently. Mind you, this was a PUG.
So, taking my positive run earlier, I decided to keep going and run Mana Tombs. I pair up with a rogue and shaman via LFG tool who immediately says 'I'll fill the rest of the group with my level 70 guildies'. I tell him that this is a great idea as I am just hoping for a Plate drop from the first boss.
Boy, it sure was great that I could rely on a group filled with guildies rather than random PUG's.
On my way to the meeting stone the leader asks, "Pally how much +heal do you have?". I promptly respond "114".
This is where I was immediately dubbed a complete noob (not to be confused with newb). After laughing, they ask how a holy spec could have such (explicit) healing gear? I respond that I am Ret + Holy, rather than complete Holy.
I tell them that I have main healed this instance, and I am completely capable of doing it again.
So, the leader then says that the shaman will Main Heal, because obviously Ribosome can't. Everyone laughs and agrees.
Well, we get into the instance and everything is going well. I did not put any of my "Greater blessing of" buffs on yet as they're really not necessary for the first pull. As being marked as a complete noob already, they tell me to buff them. Before I could even do it, they ask if I even know how to buff.
After that, they demand to have improved sanctity aura. I respond that I do not have it, and that my best aura is the Retribution Aura, as the devo aura is utterly useless on 70's with decimal additions to mitigation.
After they disagree, and I don't feel like arguing I put the aura on anyway. (After a few insults)
It is here where I decide to leave after the first boss, where my drop has a chance.
We get to the boss easy enough and they all tell me to off heal. They then explain how to off heal. I just keep my mouth shut.
After we down the boss, all of the guildies disconnect. I assume they didn't get their drop.
Okay, rant over.
So, how important is healing gear? I mean, I know 114 is not a lot. However, I wear PLATE. I have a lot of +int, and I do try to get as much +healing gear as possible. I suppose part of my question is, are they right to call me a complete noob?
