EOG build help

Hey all,
I'm currently preping 4 karzahan and eventually BT. my current build is 21/40/0 and i have full spellfire/strike. I made my build cause i assumed that i would be using fireball mainly and it can really benefit from empowered fireball and if the healer gets aggroed i could throw in a POM-PB to sac myself to save the priest. But i've been hearing a lot about scorch mages and i am a little unsure about my build. with 700+ (eventual) fire damage, is it worth it to use fireball w/ +25% bonus spell dam or will scorch out-dps it cause I get the 700+ damage twice?

The important thing to note is that scorch receives a penalty to +dmg due to cast time. 1.5/3.5 is the penalty ratio.

If you're specced for it, fireball will do much much more than scorch. However, there is certainly room for a scorch mage in raids.

all the stuff you hear about scorch is either leftovers from the ancient days when rolling ignites were real or from people who don't specify it's the improved scorch effect that's so nice.
