I have played a mage and a rogue, so now I playing a warlock. I just leveled to to 10.
Here are some questions I have?
1. Can someone help me place my talent points as I level?
ex: My first 5 points should be in some talent.
2. Mage looks for int gear, what does the Warlock look for?
3. Right now I am attacking with the imp, as the imp attacks I cast
Curse of Agony
Corruption
Immolate
Then Shadow Bolt until dead
Does this seem like a good way to grind?

Welcome to warlock my friend, its a fun ride. Ok to answer your questions:
1. first 5 points should go into improved corruption, another instant cast DOT is pure heaven
2. Warlock looks for stam 1st, more hp means more Mana due to Life Tap, as well as awesome survivability. "_______ of the eagle" is great stuff to look for due to stam/int
3. You should get the VoidWalker if you don't have it already...for soloing nothing beats it, you use imp for instances for the stam Boost. The common grinding strat is, send VW in, COA, Corruption, Immolate, then life tap to replace mana and drain health. That way, you can grind on a ton of mobs before having to eat/drink.

Acinious hit it right on the nose with how to grind at low lvls, deffinatly put your first 5 into imp corr, no matter what tree you go into after that, you still have another insta-cast DOT. As you lvl, you will want to choose which tree will suit you best. Either Affliction, Demonology, or Destruction. Now I am not going to even try comparing any of them since i do not have that much knowledge about demo, or desto builds. Read the Warlock Guide for more information about the class, and the Shadow Compendium for more info on ways to grind... and have fun with it!
