Kiting ???Follow

Ok this might be a stupid question but what does kiting involve for a frost mage. Bottom line what do you do to kite mobs. I was reading something about useing your FB. Im confused. I thought it was just rounding them up by running in a circle around them. So if someone can elaborate on it for me that would be great. Thanks again.

Kiting a mob (a single monster/enemy) is easy. Cast frost bolt, cast fireball (or another frost bolt), strafe to your side (backing up is slow, strafing to your side is not), and repeat. If the mob starts to get close, frost nova him.

I hope this helps.

ok. Can you kite more than one mob for AOE purposes.

well that is pretty much what you use blizzard for. It is just an extreme kiting maneuver.

You pop icebarrier. Round up some melee mobs, frost nova, blink, improved blizzard+permafrost them normally two times, frost nova, blink blizzard they should all be dead.

To Kite or kiting is a combat tactic of a player character keeping a mob or another player at a certain distance, usually out of melee distance but within ranged attack, and luring the pursuer toward your direction while dealing damage at the same time.

Mages can use the Frostbolt spell for its Chill effect which slows the movement of the opponent. Rank 1 of the spell is often used for the reduced casting time (if talented) and mana cost.

A mage with the appropriate Frost talent build is able to "kite" multiple enemies. This is the basis of Frost AoE Grinding. For more details, please refer to Leatherpatches' guide and the Index of Mage Guides for related and general information.
