I have several druids and i cannot seem to get them to get up to level 10. I find the class somewhat boring but i would like to get my levels up so i can use the fun forms. What is the best way to go about this with both Night Elves and Tauren? Thanks for all the help

Kill Mobs.
O yea, and do quests. For the sake of argument, lets take a little walk down memory lane. Firstly understand it has been over a year since i started a druid of either faction, so while some quests may be diffrent, the jist is the same.

You start the game, Initaly there are a few quests, Maybe only one. the tirck it to get the quests, and do them ASAP, stack the qeusts if you can. For example, their are a few quests that send you to the spider caves as a NE, you can doubble up quests in the same area for bonus exp. once you are wraped up in this area, you will be directed to the next part of the zone, with new quests, overall you will be told where to go if you take the time to actualy read the quests(I did not do this and spent a lot of time running arround like a idoit). If you get lost, ReRead the quest.

How to play a 1-10 Druid
At theese levels think of yourself as a true hybrid, part caster, part healer, part hits stuff with a stick. I open my fights with a few rounds of wrath and a moonfire(once you get it), then beat the target down with a stick(healing when needed) do not be scared of a second moonfire if you need to.

Once you hit level 10, you start to get choices on how to play because you get your first Animal form(the Bear), but this is not about that.... you asked about 1-10. You can eazaly spend 1-10 in Tresedale(SP) or Mulgor(SP) and never have to worry about much about it getting hard. This part of the game 1-10 should take about 3-10 hours of game play, then things start going slow.

Yeah, Cap... getting to lvl 10 w/ any char is pretty easy.

OP, are you really sure you want to play a druid? I mean, if you don't have the patience to get to lvl 10, which is pretty easy....

I'm guessing this: maybe you hit lvl 6ish and were still using your lvl 1 or lvl 2 stick for fighting.

That's really painfully slow killing - and the closer you get to 10 still using your crappy lvl 2 stick, the slower and more painful it will get. Mine or skin a little. Get some money - usually 20-40 silver will do - and buy a better stick, mace or knife off the AH. One w/ good dps. The prob is that you may have to journey to a far away city to train in it to use it - and this is another 10s.

Look up quests. There are ways to get new weapons as you level - they aren't great, but they are better than your lvl 2 stick.

Seriously, ask yourself again why you are doing this. Druids are ... well, let me put it this way: they're not for everyone. They can be frustrating to play. If you 'get' druid, you'll love it. But so far you seem to not be in this camp, at least that's how you present to me.

This person has made very similar posts on many class forums here. I'm not sure what to make of the multitude of beginning druids, priests, mages ....

I love the fact that most people find druids to be a harder and more boring class to play at low lvls, i think this essentially steers all the carebear players away from the imba class

Look man there is no secret u have to love the class and endure the painful lvls like we did, but i assure u theres a very bright light at the end of the long tunnel.

No offense to the OP, but if you need help getting to level 10, this Class is not for you.

Wow, you're getting much more patient responses that I expected with this post.

First question...why in the world do you have "several" druids, especially if you find the class boring? I myself have lots of alts but all different classes/races, and I spend 80% of my time on my Druid anyway.

Step One: Delete every druid except for one and stick to it.

Bigger question...do you have other non-druid toons? I.e. do you know the game at all? Getting to level 10 is pretty much about following the little yellow exclamation marks around your race's starting area.

Step Two: Right click the dude with a yellow exclamation point over his head...do what he says and return to him when done...rinse and repeat. I'm Alliance, though, so I have no idea how you'd level a Tauren Druid. ;)

I would suggest that if you don't have the patience to get ANY class to 10 then the GAME is not for you.

It is the fastest part of the game for leveling. What are you going to do when each level might take you up tp 10 hours of play to level????

To start with, NE's do the starting area, move to dolanaar start with the few quests, the one with the satyr where you need to get nightstalker teeth, feathers from owls and something from spiders also see the cooking trainer and take it then you can get a quest for a recipe, legs from spiders. Go around start killing your mobs, you will get to level 7 easily, few more easy quests there should get you to 9. The quests now may be a little daunting unless you can get another person to group with, if you are having trouble you can now easily go to bloodmyst and do a few quests there. At 10 bear quest, it is a little hard to do at 10, but doable.
When you get to Auberdine ask in general if anyone can help you with it a few higher druids will often help out budding druids with the quest.

Tauren, I have found to be easier to get to level 10, you can stack more quests and mobs are a little more spread out, also the level 10 bear quest is a lot easier then the NE quest.

Level 10 takes what? Two hours of constant questing?

OP, every class is boring until level 10. They have no talent points, barely any spells/skill, have no money, etc. Suck it up and kill mobs around your level and do the starting quests (read them, their quite detailed in what you have to do). If you do this you'll see that getting to 10 is the easiest part of the game, although admitedly boring for any class.

My new druid is only level 21 and the only boring part so far was level 16-20. The spells just didn't seem to improve much before I grabbed cat form. But now I love scratching things :)

exactly... 14-20 for me. At 14 bear was boring the hell out of me. Got so bad that I quit playing the druid and rolled a hunter instead. Eventually pulled it together and made it to 20 and eventually to 70 while the hunter is now still at 50...

Yeah, I just hit 32 and I'm kind of starting to struggle, but I think it's just cause I don't really like the level 30-40 areas. STV I hate just because it's too big and spread out, and it seems like it takes forever to get anywhere. Desolace I've done too many times, and hillsbrad/arathi/alterac just seems to have a paucity of quests to actually do, and I'm not really a big fan of just killing things to level. I'm really looking forward to 40 when I get moonkin form, but I guess I'm just going to have to struggle onward. The class itself is great, I just have nothing I want to do to level :( Oh well, onward and upward.

Since when is questing/leveling supposed to be "fun"? Yea it's cool to get rewards and bonuses but leveling should be the step to get to endgame/pvp which is pretty much what it's all about. Levels 1-20 should be the most boring levels of your entire character. Either stick with it re-roll or don't play the game...go to FPS where the object is not to level but to win.

IMO i had the best time when i was leveling from 30-40...travel form makes leveling easier as well as better skills in kitty form to make it easier to level. Try going to shimmering flats, it has good quests and you can make a decent amount of money grinding there. When you hit 38/39 hit the pvp brackets and get the items from AB/WSG. Druids are excellent flag runners with travel and kitty + feline swiftness (30%).

OP level 1-20 will be "slow" in the killing/leveling department.

1-10 you get a few heals, a few DD spells, and your wooden fishing pole to whack the mob to death = slow leveling.

Then at 10 when you get bear form it's semi-slow too. Sure you can go through more mobs, then switch to caster cure yourself, thorns, mark of wild, then bear form again. So it's non-stop grinding, but playing cat last night, and I was tearing up mobs so much faster.

I changed to bear form right after cat, and it seemed like I forgot to click auto-attack... but that was not the case, it just took that long to swing at it.

All and all OP you want a fast leveling job, go hunter. Spec in beast mastery, and you'll almost never have to rest for mp/hp. I can grind/quest all night with very little downtime

It's weird because they are maybe my fav areas in the game: 1000 needles, hillsbrad, arathi, STV. I almost didn't do Desolace nor Dustwallow. Still this part seemed to go really fast. The hard part was lvl 40-50. Not so many areas. After 50 I got Mangle... enough said. Things went very fast since then. At 62 I got both Omen of Clarity and Maim... can you say EZ mode? :P

I was put off at first by the leveling speed of a lower level Druid too, had him working up rested XP whilst playing on my more entertaining characters

getting to level 10 did seem to take forever compared to other classes...the DPS is undenyably lower than most if not all of the other classes

Now my Druid is my main char and the most fun, just bear with him (no pun inteneded) and you should turn out fine
