So Im grinding some Skullsplitter Trolls in STV for a quest and right in the middle of a fight with a mob I get hit with a frostbolt among other things. I look up on the hill and sure enough, theres a human mage who has 3 lvls on me spamming frostbolts til I died, she was even considerate enough to /LOL & /Spit on my corpse....

...I normally accept ganks like this and carry on....but the way it went about got me a little....vindictive....

I had my Soulstone up, so I wait til she left, SS'ed and summoned my Felhunter (Which up to this point I never really used). I found her not 300 yds away battling a gorilla, after she finished, I made sure she saw me coming as I attacked...

The Felhunter beat the living hell out of her, locked her spells, sucked her buffs dry, and reduced her mana pool down to almost nil (Idiocity FTW!) I wanted to draw this out so instead of Dotting her up I just drained mana till she was helpless, only thing she could do was try to blink away, but I paced her and ultimately killed her.

I was still pissed though for some unnatural reason, so I stayed in the area wanting more blood, not camping perse', but I waited for her to rez and drink. Then I sent the felhunter to town on her again to much the same results. After killing her a second time came the funny part....

...I guess she must have called backup cause this ?? Nelf Hunter comes up to me yet doesnt attack, he simply waits til she spawns again (I would imagine he's asking her what high level Lock was ganking her) she then /points to me, and he /lol's, then /no, then mounts and leaves the area (Me and Her alone once again).....she was dead soon thereafter for a 3rd time.

The Felhunter makes a world of difference, just thought I would share.

Yep, the fel hunter is pretty much your standard PvP pet. The succubus is great for Seduce, and the fel guard's Intercept and damage are good, but the amount of utility you gain from 3 of 4 powers from the fel hunter make him a solid choice.

Felhunter is by far the best PvP pet. Pwns casters by silencing them, steals Debuffs and heals himself, makes melee cause less dmg to you, you can see rogues :O, takes away harmful effects from you, and i think it even silences hunters lol i've seen that deal pop up like it did and best of all has the most annoying melee/biting sound.

I have both a mage and a warlock, the mage higher, so I have no special stake in the class sides in this story, but I love it anyway.

Gankers like the mage you describe are evil and deserve punishment in kind. By the felhunter or whatever means, what I love about this is seeing a player setting out to attack a lower level from a position of advantage get her just deserts afterwards. And I respect that hunter for not ganking you in turn. If I note opposing players griefing my allies, I'll do my best to help them if I can. When it's players of my faction ganking opposing lowbies, they don't deserve any more respect just because they're my faction, and I'm happy to see the respectful opposing player defend himself successfully, though I can't do much to help aside from trying to give a warning.

I wish the Tainted Blood debuff worked on the Felhunter's attacks against something and not something's attacks against it. The debuff is rarely ever useful in PvP as people ignore the demon and go for the Warlock, and I never, EVER quest with my Felhunter.

But Spell Lock and Devour Magic is definitely great against casters. I prefer the Succubus for non-casters though. +10% damage and Seduce. Yumm.

Amen.

On the downside of Seduce, too bad it shares Fear's DR.

Just a followup regarding that mage:

I kept bumping into her today in Feralas with me being lvl 43 and her lvl 45 (6 times to be exact), so I chased her down almost every time and killed her 3 seperate times, the rest of the time she ran and I lost her.

The punchline is that she got brave when my Voidwalker is out and approaches to gank, yet with Fel Dominance I swap to my Felhunter in a blink of an eye and attack. One time Fel Dominance was on CD so I had to DC her into fear then did the full 6 second summon for the Felhunter.

I love PvP!
