I was just wondering if anyone ever made an alt hunter, and just skipped the pet quest. Just to make things more challenging. I was kind of thinking about doing that, just for kicks. Maybe at like the high 60's or so go back and do it.

..... o.o

Ok, I can tell you right now that, unless you have a skilled group of friends that can aid/escort you through most of your quests, I have serious doubts about you (or anyone) making it to level 60.

Kiting is one thing, but not all quests and mobs lend themselves well to that kind of style. It'd be interesting to hear how it goes though. Try it out and goodluck with it.

edit: spelling

..... you can always just dismiss your pet and play without it for a while...
no need to skip that quest.

I wonder if anyone has tried to make it to 70 without equipping any armour or weapons or leaving the starting zone @.@

Congratz. You will be playing the most useless melee character ever.

I wonder if there's any one who just likes to go no weapon all the time and just beat everything down bare knuckles all the way to lvl 70 ... Not really .

Yes, actually.

Cartman and the gang at SP did it. Leveled to the top on Elwyn Forest boars!

I'm the kind of person that is rarely ever caught off guard or disgusted by any kind of sick joke. But even my eyes widened and I laughed myself stupid, out of sheer horror, at that moment in the episode.

High five to the SP crew for going as far as they did.

Pardon me for saying so but wtf would you be playing a hunter for if you're not going to play it right? Why not play a Warlock with no pet? or play a priest without healing, or a rogue and not use stealth, or a warrior and wear cloth, be a druid and melee in humanoid form, paladin and not use seals,.... you getting it?

Not going to say much else besides that, everything else would be just more venting and talking about how useful this thread is...... which is about as useful as a hunter with no pet going solo.

I think you all just took the bait.

at this point I will now give this topic all of the consideration it deserves....

I can understand the desire to try something more challenging, but I wouldn’t find that very appealing myself. But it’s your $15 a month. If you want to try it then by all means go for it. My only request is that should you do so please don’t group with him. That would be very unfair to the rest of the party.

If I go marks/survival my pet wont be a huge necessity...I'm just saying how some people think a hunter is NOTHING without a pet, but I think we can still do a fairly decent job - it's just harder.

So you mean losing added DPS, a Cloth Protector, a makeshift tank, and so on... is not gimping yourself? Sure, go ahead, experiment all you want, but you will have hell to pay through the levels unless you decide to play in instances only.
