I have 220 agility at level 42 and my friends tell me that this is really bad, is this true and if so how can I make up for the lost agility and Crit chance.

I'm level 53, I have 170 some AGI.

I have 270some sta.

I do perfectly fine, 220 AGI is good, if you have a nice balance of STA in there.

I have 112 agility at level 43 with a mix of sta and int.
A little low but I have 100 attack power to make up a little.

I go for gear based on 1 Agility ~ 1.5 AP.

My agility is at about 307 as a BM specced hunter at level 52. I'm hoping some of the other builds here are non-BM hunters as we don't need all that stamina being BM...that's what our pets are for.

This isn’t as true as it used to be. I felt the same before the expansion, as I seldom got hit. But now our pets share a percentage of our stamina, as well as our armor. So the more stamina we have the more stamina our pets have. And Blizzard seems to think we need a good amount of stamina for Outland, as most of the hunter gear given out as quest rewards have a ton of it.

I am a BM specced hunter, and to be honest have no idea how much agility I have, I know its a lot, im lvl 44 and im guessing have about 240. Stamina is nice and I will always get stamina where i can, but I favor Agility over all else besides crit% as I have Humar (cat) and Go for the Throat. My cat and I put up nearly identical DPS as he is clawing ALL the time with me getting crits so often and him having the ability for focus regen +100%. I grind almost exclusively with an instance run here and there and my pet can tank extremely well, excluding the times I open with aimed and arcane and crit on both then get a crit on an auto shot. Stamina is great, but not necessary unless you plan to do a lot of PvP, and I mean a LOT, cuz Agility > Stamina to me for that, kill em faster. Besides living for the extra 1-2 seconds in BG isn't THAT crucial and if its just some random PvP action while running through STV, try and kill em, if you don't, who cares?

Agility is the number one stat for hunters, period. How you arrange the rest of your stats is up to you, but crits/dodge/and AP are all given by Agility so, do the math.
