Hey guys :)
As the title says, im curious what the best leveling build would be in outlands ? is it still protection or retribution ?

I'll say again what I said in another thread. It may not apply as well for Outlands since the mobs are more powerful so you can't take 5 at a time.

Prot is better, IMO, but trickier to use. Also, it will make some quests much easier but some others will be much harder instead. Easier if you need to grind those last points of XP, too.

Retro is good overall but offers nothing special IMO. Higher single-target damage is good, especially against casters which are the bane of Prot Pallies, but then again all Pallies can heal so it shouldn't be too bad.

I'd say use what you're more comfortable with. Heck, you can even go Holy once you start getting good +Spell Damage gear. ;)

Not true - I'm prot/holy (about even in each) speced 64 and relatively easily take on 4-5 mobs +/- 2 to my lvl at once. Ok usually by accident 1-3 is what I'm shooting for but it's fine. Sure there may be a bubble/bandage in there and slow kills due to SoL/JoL but you're fine (rarely use the big LoH panic button - only soloing elites and sometimes not then).

Probably not when you first get out there though - you'll want to get some Outlands armor/weapons first.

But reading the threads on here - Prot or Holy or Ret (or a *smart* mix of 2 of those) are completely viable in Outlands. Just decide on your style. Keep in mind that if you want to go Ret - some mix of prot/healing will probably make you more desirable in instances.

Oh yeah, I didn't mean you'd die if you pulled 5, just that it's not ideal and not what you should be aiming for like you might do pre-Outlands. ;P

But thanks for the precision. I have no hands-on experience in Outlands, only seen a few friends play in there with non-Pally characters.

I'm Prot and find I can AoE grind easily and also kill a single mob quickly with a 2H and SoR (great damage when reckoning procs).

The build I'm aiming for is below, though it will probably change soon as Blizz are changing some talents in the next patch
