I wouldn't take Pathfinding or Bestial Swiftness. And I definitely WOULD take Improved Mend Pet. I would also exchange Catlike Reflexes with Ferocious Inspiration. Depending on your pet and the trained skills I would probably take Bestial Discipline as well.

When it comes to the Marksman tree, I am fairly sure I wouldn't have taken Rapid Killing. I found it to be useful when fully Marksman specced, but not as a BM. The awesome power in the Aimed Shot/Arcane Shot in PvP was fun, but as a BM you lose too much of the MM talents that makes Rapid Killing powerful. Not sure if I would have taken Savage Strikes either. It is useful of course, for those two seconds you are in Melee...

Edit: Instead of Rapid Killing, have you considered Go for the Throat? If you don't take Bestial Discipline, Go for the Throat might prove very useful.

even with Discipline, GftT is great.
i have had em both for a long time, and being able to fire an endless amount of screeches/claws at your opponent helps. a lot.

  • This is the spec i'm going with for now, once i hit 70. right now i'm at 60 one brick from 61 and trying to decide whether to do GftT or Aimed shot first. I find Bestial swiftness to be a practical must if the pets you use don't have dash. Like the Raptor or the Turtle. It also good when your dive or Dash is on CD. Just helps out with grinding.

Improved Mend pet is practically a necessity in outlands where almost everything dose some type of status effect.

And Unless you just really hate your pet holding aggro, having atleast one of the two between bestial discipline and GftT is very important.

Bestial Swiftness is probably one of the better talents in BM for PvP. It means that even when Dash/Dive are down, your pet can still catch Blinking Mages, Sprinting Rogues, etc.

I agree on Imp Mend Pet, Ferocious Inspiration, and Bestial Discipline. BD to me is a requirement for BM, since you rely on your pet's focus to do damage and keep threat, as your RAP will not be as high as a MM Hunter's to increase the threat from Growl.

IMO, I'd take Aimed Shot, Rapid Killing, and GftT. Rapid Killing is absolutely essential if you plan on doing any instances, and GftT, while not as effective as it is in a SV build, is still very powerful in a BM build.

Savage Strikes is alright for BM, but keep in mind, melee crits do not proc Kill Command.

your spec.... is missing some key talents for a BM main, with some MM added in.

IE. GftT, Mortal shots, bestial discipline, ferocious inspiration(+3% dmg from all party members is nice at 70, 35 x 5 = 15% more damage or so.

    now, wasted points.

    Pathifinding, we have mounts.

savage strikes, unless you're one of the gimped "melee hunters" you can spend those points much better, IE mortal shots, GftT.

imp mend pet > imp revive, on the fact that removing ailments is very useful.

Hawk eye? good for kiting, but you're a BM spec you have a pet, that does the larger amount of your dps. Good for PvP, versing other hunters, but is it really better than 3 points in Mortal shots? even pvpwise? not at all

18% more dmg on crit> 6 yards range
30% more crit dmg if you go full Mortal shots, 3k crit at 70 with aimed? got MS? add 900 damage on to it.

this is my current build, just hit 70 with my alt hunter. I know that right off the bat not having Endurance Training is bugging you all already, which is understandable. Right now I have a questing spec that rocks for farming quests and cloth etc etc. I can chain kill about 40-50 mobs without ever drinking or using a bandaid. It is incredibly mana-efficient and my pet rapes in dps and can tank anything. Since most of the mobs you fight while questing do physical dmg, and my pet is a wolf (5% armor increase right there), having Thick Hide would further increase his armor than on a cat or something. He didn't level as fast as me so he's still 68, and has 9.8k armor unbuffed. Now that I'm 70 I'll probably ditch Imp Pet Rez and Thick Hide and get Endurance Training, and also ditch imp conc shot for Efficiency (Just realized I didn't have it WTF -_-).

I don't have much to say about your build in particular because most of the corrections have already been made to it. Your build atm is great for PvP, but as someone already stated, you don't really need Savage Strikes, they'd be better spent in GftT or Mortal Shots.

My personal setup at 70. Nice mix of pvp talents and useful pve things.
