The change to Devastate in 2.1 is being reverted and will not be a change for the patch once it goes live. We've done some additional damage testing and the output is in far excess of what we had thought it would provide.

jeez, ya think?

i think i'm more ticked off about the fact that this ticks me off at all.

I can't figure out if I'm disappointed or just relieved that I don't have to worry about getting two good one-handers and ditching the shield.

Supposedly it was added back into the PTR today, so who the hell knows what's going on with Blizz.

Meh going to repost what I've said before.

Off-hand dmg is 50% of normal weapon dmg, devastate is 50% of normal weapon dmg +35. So with the change you would get 25% of your off-hand dmg +35.

Thats the way I read it anyways.

well 1 hand weapon spec gives you +10% to 1h damage. So its a bit more than 25% +35

Slightly. 10% of 25% is 2.5% so 27.5% +35. Still seems kinda lack luster.

Each stack of Sunder gives you an additional +35 damage bonus, to a full +175.

When it went live, the bonus was applied after %damage reduction from your offhand (if it was applied at all). Even if you only get 50% + 25% weapon damage, on a fully sundered target you also get 350 bonus damage.

We'll see how it comes out.

I thought you got additional threat per sunder, not dmg. Was under the impression the extra dmg was simply from the target having less armor. May have read the talent wrong though.

The tooltip is kind of odd. The bonus threat from Devastate doesn't change; however, each stack of Sunder gives Devastate more bonus damage (plus the increased damage from having lower armor).

Well more dmg does equal more threat so I guess it's not incorrect.
