Why wasn't mount quest prices reduced?Follow

Well, i was just wondering since reguler epic mounts had their cost reduced, why

not warlocks mount quest was reduced? I just spent 250g for the quest, 150g for

the stardust, and then 100g for the other ones. Well i turn in all of that and

ect, well now i have to pay 250g to buy the stuff i made. I dont think its fair,

since the price was sapposed to balance out having to buy skills for a pet. If

i knew i wasn't going to save any money i would of just bought riding skill

and got a pvp mount.

Wait? what? how did you spend 350g just on the mats for the quests?

We have the cheapest epic IF you can get help.

My main lock is a miner/skinner. My guild gave me the ghost mushrooms and some of the arcanite and shards. I spent very little on that part.

I had to spend the 150 g on the dust. One of my guildmates had done the quest, but he was never on. Never on. Never on. One night the others wanted to do a shard run for more large bril shards - so I said "let's do it in DM west - and get me my epic, too." They said yes.

So I had to run to BS and spend the 250 on jar, glyph and loadstone. All told I spent 420 to 440 on it - still way cheaper than 90g to buy first mount and skill - then 540ish to buy next epic up.

You can get lock epic mount for under 200g!

And I have the 3 items and can offer my services to up and coming locks - and maybe make 50g a run (I'm saving them 250g, remember).

Hey, just buy your class epic mount if you want to avoid the hassle of the quest. Even if you pay it's still the easiest and cheapest (imo pal epic is harder and more $). Make friends - network - and you can get that mount for about 200g! GL!

i do the same, i charge people 50g for using my items, and if they want help with the scholo part i'll solo the run for them if they pay the repair cost and i keep all the loot for selling

QQ more. We get a mount no one elsa can get, so stop complaining. It's only gold - the easiest stuff to make in the game. When I needed to purchase the mats, I fished for four hours to make the necessary gold. It doesn't seem like so much to me. (AND I did it when normal epic mounts were still 1000G). Anyone who can't make the necessary gold in a fairly short time (less than a week) is either lazy or unwilling to expend the time because his priorities don't include making gold.

is fishing really that good for making gold with? i've never really bothered to level it but i also don't know how much of a demand there is for cooking supplies either... any suggestions?

Jenovaomega, there is always a demand for fish on ah, I know i use alot of stonescale eels for defense pots, and oily blackmouth for other pots as an alchemist. While I dont have to pay for them, because while other guildies are lvl up thier fishing, i ask them to fish for the blackmouth and stonescale eels.. and they are more than willing. But they can sell for a very good amount.. (depending on prices on server)

If you are not alchemyst that uses all those eels (like me) its nice little profit. I fish for yellowtails and hand them in IF too, I get crappy greens for them I DE on my alt and sell mats....... may sound complicated but its nice little profit too.
Cooking supplies.... hardly.

I have yet to catch something worth spending lures on in Outlands tho, the skill req for fishing there is insane.

I make my gold by playing the AH, mostly. There are a lot of farmers who underlist their stuff, to make profit right now in bulk. I'll buy it all out, relist it at the standard server price, tidy little bit of gold. Only works on high demand items like cloth, enchanting mats, JC mats and suchlike.

Example: Mageweave cloth will sell for over 4g on my server, a lot of casters who didn't have Tailoring before are trying to powerlevel it, and they have the gold to burn at 70. People will list stacks of Mageweave as low as 2g.. so it's a tidy bit of profit. That's how I got the gold for my rogue's epic mount by the time I hit 52.

No one has yet to anserw my question, i was wondering why the quest cost wasn't

reduced and why do you have to turn in all of those mats if in in a few quests

later you have to buy them all back?

Also i never said i spent 350G i said i spent 150g on the stardust and then 100g

for the other mats. totaling to 250g so then i have to spend another 250g to

buy the stuff, then try and get a group to run DM. I wasn't complaing or

anything i was just wondering why.

Maybe because Blizzad wants locks to be proud with hard to get mounts?
If it was all about cost I would never feel I actually achieved something with my demon horsie. Would just stop leveling for few days, get the gold, and run around again.
Price is nothing compared to trouble some of us have gone through to get it.

You could have maybe read all the steps and reqs of the quest before even starting it and then decide? Not like its that big mistery what you have to do and how much is it going to cost you..... simply use search button and spend like 15 minutes reading.

Keep in mind.. no other class but pallies get their own class mount, as well as free riding skillups to 150. Much love for a 90s mount, as opposed to the 100g.

And honestly.. doing the runs for mats you can't buy isn't that hard. Get a guild, a few seventy chars will rip through that place like none other. A fellow lock, who already has their epic mount, will be able to get some of the mats for you as well.

Seriously. Flaming warhorse of doom.. or a war chocobo/riding wolf/horsie/steel chicken. I know what I'm picking.

Sethy, i did read the quest line on thottbot, i knew i had to spend over 200g

for mats, but it never said anything about having to spend more money just to

get the things you gave the guy to make with mats, It costs 250g for all the

items your need.

Lock quests with costs

and just click away

Details about Dreadsteed

Costs, instructions, everything.

I never rely on one source only if there is something important involved. Besides I like to read comments and tips about almost anything :)

THat's just to get the glyph, jar and lodestone for the DMwest fight at the end.

150g for xoroathian stardust. And who know what for the 20-30 bl dr scales, 20-30 dark iron ores, 6 or so LB shards, and 3 or 4 arcanite bars.

I *think* the 150g is the only price you *have* to pay. In theory, if guildmates gave you everything else and a high lvl lock did the end part for you, you could get an epic mount for 150g. I *think.*

Edit - forgot the shadowy potion. Cheapest looks like 156g.

onenine....how did you get out of paying 156G for the shadowy potion for the quest to go into Shadow Hold in Felwood and get the 150g worth of xoroathian stardust...as far as I know you NEED to do that part of the quest chain in order to get your mount. That is before finding another lock who has the mats already.

So you said you paid another lock 75G for his mats and 40 gold in mats for shadow power potion plus 10G repair bill for warrior. Thats 281G right there without mentioned 3 arcanite bars, 35 black dragonscale, 25 Dark Iron bars. If your professions were skinning and mining, then you paid 281G otherwise it was higher than that.

Or am I wrong on the xoroathian stardust you buy from the dude in Felwood (which by the way was pretty sweet walking around Shadow Hold without being attacked by anyone....fun quest chain for a cool mount....GJ Blizz!!
