How to value stats?Follow

I am trying to figure out how to pick gear/talents. I want to come up with a system that give's points for stats such as +mana/5, spirit, int, stamina, +heal. This way I could look at a piece of gear and descide that it would give me +400 points for the combination of all of the stats vs. another that might give +390, since all are important. I figure mana/5 is most likely the most valuable point per point and +heal is the least since items might have +300 to healing but only +15 for mana/5 for regen.
Anywas a generic version of this would be:
+1 point for +heal
+2 points for stamina
+3 points for int
+4 points for spirit
+5 points mana/5

Thanks for the help, any explenation in how you rate the stats would help also, thanks.
P.S. I know there are lots of variables, but a simple approximation is all I am really looking for.

+5 heal
+2.5 int/stam
+ 2 mp/5
+1 spir

Stacking up on +healing gear is the most mana efficent path if raiding. Consider if you had +mp5 gear but low +heal (option a) vs high +heal and int (option b)...

In option b you would be using smaller grade heals eg GH2 to get the same heal amount as option a using GH7 - there is significant difference in the cost mana wise of these heals. So option b gives the versitility to save on mana, but also allowing you to have humungous heals for the occassional mortal strike fight.

With pets and pots in a raiding situation I've never had any issues with mana through stacking up +heal (for the record I have +1550 heal and +135 mps whilst casting).

The reason i went with int and stam next was basically a) bigger mana pool and b) less chance for one shot death. A number of mobs/bosses in raids can one shot a priest with only 6000 health.
