How about a Gorilla, Thunderstop is great for tanking multiple mobs, for me it's held aggro against 1 and sometimes 2 Multishots on mobs that have only been hit by it, and it's quite useful in groups for keeping aggro off the healers

Carrion bird < Gorilla for multiple mobs.
Boar < Gorilla for single mobs.
Wolf/Windserpent/Carrion bird < for grouping.
Owl/Windserpent (cat for Nelfs) < Gorilla for PvP.

(my opinion, not facts)

Good idea with the Bird for multiple mobs, in a longer fight, I guess it's a better idea, but Thunderstomp would be good for quick aggro, I've not Tried Screech yet though, I'll do it tonight thanks

I was thinking of a Owl but Carrion Birds are 5% more armour so that's gonna help

gorillas are good for PVP, with the burst damage

Boars are even better, 1 second immobalize plus the Burst damage

I'll try the Carrion Bird though thanks

I don't like Gorilla's diet; however, in Outlands there are lots more fruit venders than in Azeroth.

Gorillas are slow and never get Dash (or charge, which imo is even better). The best land speed a gorilla can get is 30% w/ BM talent beastial swiftness.

That said, their stomp is good for several uses. I happen to like Carion Birds and their Screech better. CBs eat meat and fish and get Dash.

Tbh the gorilla diet can be overcome in Azeroth using the "stuff fruit stacks in your mailbox" system. Buy many stacks of fruit. Mail them to an alt or friend. Have that toon mail them back to hunter. Leave them in hunter's mailbox - you have 30 days. Now, anyplace you find a mailbox, you can extract pet food. And there are lots more mailboxes than fruit venders or banks.

Also, any pet can be made to work. If you like the gorilla, go with it.

I think you reversed your greater than/less than signs. Because I think you meant a boar is greater than a gorilla for single mobs, right (and like so for the other statements?)

Remember, the big number eats the little number.

I just can’t get past the gorilla’s non-stop butt scratching and chest beating. Too much. Just too much.

For tanking I went with a bat. High DPS, bite (so it doesn't restrict growl/screech) and screech.
For DPS I'm using a scorpid, it's got okay DPS with claw, but for boss fights scorpid poison pumps out a ton of damage. Of course a ravager would be good here too.
For PvP, I'd say windserpent or boar. I'll go WS cuz I hate boars.
But for farming, I would use a gorilla. Then you can get 3-4 mobs and actually make use of your AoE abilities. Screech may be more effective, but stomp is great for quick AoE.

screech doesnt have a cooldown, so (especially with GftT or the BM focus regen talent) it is very spammable, a bird throws out 2-3 at the very start of the fight, and it keeps the debuff on almost non stop, preventing a lot of damage, and pulling massive aggro (aimed crit+arcane crit doesnt pull aggro unless you get exceptionally high crits, and then the mob will be dead by the time it reaches you anyway)
