err how the hell do you tame pets that have moves that stun and interupt your channeling? ive been trying for almsot an hour to tame a vulture in the plaguelands to get screech and dive 3 but i simply can not do it, it keeps using swoop on me and interupting my channeling for taming, theres nothing i can do. how the hell do you tame creatures that do that?

Conc shot (at max range)
as soon as the bird gets in range hit tame and he's yours!

Or, aggro it, once your stun wears off, then start taming it. Not necessarily the best way to do it, but it does work.

As mentioned you can lay down freeze trap, concussion shot then start to tame and always keep aspect of the monkey up.

If that still fails then you can ask a friend to come along, here are the friends:

Hunter:

He can lay a second freeze trap that is just behind yours so the mob simply never gets to you.

Mage:

Can sheep the mob and I have seen it done with this tactic by other hunters and had someone help me using it before I had freeze trap to tame a mob that used a stun attack.

Druid:

They can sleep mobs and I am sure this works since mobs can be tamed while sheeped or while frozen they should be able to be tamed while slept.

Hope this helps.

Or you can double freeze trap it your self.

Use aspect of the monkey

lay freeze trap

back up till almost out of range of target

wait till cool down is up

pull critter

once it is frozen

lay another freeze trap

start taming.

well its not a matter of the stun wearing off, its a matter of it consistantly stunning me, i cant finish the channeling without it knocking me on my butt and interupting it

hm? i thought you couldn't attack the animal in any form or the taming would not work, you guys are saying you can?

Freeze trapping works. I've done it many times.

You hope to finish training before the trap breaks, it gets on you and stuns you again.

Go to petopia at brashendeavors.net and see if there is any other animal like the one you're going for that does not stun.

I know it doesn't have Dive 3. Maybe this after you do the above:

Quote:
Ironbeak Screecher (52-53, Felwood) * Dive 3

Not sure if these stun or not. I'd think you could get the Plagueland bird you're working on if you use freezing trap(s) or get a friend to help. GL.

If you use the double freese trap method, there is no way it will stun you unless the tame fails. Each freeze trap last 10 sec, and taming takes 20 sec.

As far as damaging a pet, you can before you tame it, as long as you dont lose aggro during the taming process you will be fine.

Get a mage friend to sheep it, it DOES work, i did it to tame "Son of Hakkar" - lvl 60 elite wind serpent....no other way could be done easily...so we decided to sheep it so no one attacked it, and it didnt go out of sheep...LOL...So if you know a helpfull mage that can go to EPL with you get him to Pollymorph him...Then start taming away.

...... he is easely solo tameable, and he was solo tameable before.
i tamed him at 66 solo without aggroing another living thing (until i went exploring that is =P) at 60, things would have required me to feign death once or twice, but that would be it.
