Pet leveling questionFollow

If a lvl 60+ hunter would tame a low lvl pet (lvl 20-30 for the looks) and would like to train(level) it, would he have to kill mobs same/slight higher lvl then the pet or mobs the same level as the hunter himself?

Must still give EXP to the Hunter him/herself. So even if a level 70 Hunter chooses to tame a level 1 mob for whatever reason, the absolute lowest level of mob that would give the pet EXP must still be green to the Hunter.

Unless you are BM specced, just bring the lowbie pet with you in any instances you hit. It should get quite alot of xp just by standing next to you.

Good luck with that, I did it once, and it is not something I would want to repeat.

If you should choose this rout, I would suggest asking your group about it before hand. If they are expecting you to bring a level appropriate pet to help the group through the instance they may not react to your low level pet very well.

In addition to instances you can farm low level greens for profession supplies or items to sell on the auction house. You will end up meleeing everything, unless you prefer to practice kiting. If you can group with even one other person to keep agro it makes the pet leveling much easier.

I tamed a spider that was 30 levels below me and leveled her up. It was a lot of work, but it was worth it for me. However, I’d prefer to never do it again. *smiles*

I am lvl 59 and had tamed King B cuz I thought he would be a bad ***. It was so much work to level I decided to abandon and just work with a different cat and build it as I need. It's alot of work and I just don't have the patience for it, especially if Cobra Reflexes is going to be added.
