Lvl 10 pet trained to 70 vs. lvl 70 pet.Follow

My guildmates and I are at a disagreement. According to me (and what the sticky says) if you tame a pet at level 10 and raise him to 70, he will have the same stats as a level 70 pet of the same family (assuming you train them up with the same skills).

According to my guildies, a level 50 cat will have more AP, AC, and HP than a level 15 cat that has been leveled to 50. So I'm wondering if they're wrong, or if the sticky is outdated. Does anyone have any evidence to prove either point?

They are wrong. No evidence needed, except that the entire Hunter community would be up in arms if they had to abandon their favourite low level pet for a new one every ten levels.

The only difference between a leveled pet and a freshly caught pet, is that the level 10 pet will need training every ten levels to keep up his damage/growl/dash/you name it skill.

I've got a question also...when you tame a pet at level 70 that has no skills does it get all the TP of a pet that has been leveled all the way?

Training points = (Pet Level) * (Loyalty Level - 1)

No matter when you tamed a pet, once it's loyalty is max (level 6), it will have 5 training points per level.

Skribs... stats for tamed pets are normalized by beast family. Going by base stats (no BM talents or pet training) a level 70 ravager is a level 70 ravager. A level 23 owl is a level 23 owl. A level 54 wolf is a level 54 wolf.

Your guildmates are mistaken.

The only differentiation used to be the attack speed, which is no longer an issue. Just to give an example I tamed "The Rake" at level 12. I built him up to level 60, and before the patch he still have the 1.2 attack speed, however, I tamed another cat later on to see if there was any difference in stats or damage. I also tamed this other cat to get some of the abilities, prowl, claw, etc. The only difference was the "Displayed Damage" however the DPS was exactly the same. My pet was faster which made it easier to interrupt casters, but the damage output was the same as a normal cat, the HP, armor, etc. everything was the same, nothing had changed.

Ever since the patch, every pet in its' own respective family are the same, the only difference now are skin colors =P

Screen shot or it never happened. If they have screen shots of a Cat that they leveled from lvl 15 to 50, and a cat that they recently tamed at lvl 50 to compare stats then I would believe them. But I gaurantee that the stats (with nothing invested via points) will be exactly the same, since I have personally seen it and tested this myself (although I have no screen shots =P ).

If anything a Cat you leveled from 15 to 50 would have more Armor and HP if you invested into those stats using their talent points. Now if you respec'd him, and the one you just tamed, then yea they'll have the same stats.
