So I am Combat Swords currently using Vindicator's Brand main hand. I am looking to get a good off-hand. I am thinking of running BM until I get Latro's Shifting Sword or I was maybe thinking of switching to BS and make myself a Fireguard. So what I am asking is whether or not BS will be worth it for a dang nice off-hand or just stick with Latro's until something better drops.

It'll probably be a lot easier and less expensive to join an Arena team and get 1200 points then it will be to become a blacksmith and power grind 2k gold or more into making that epic sword...
Go arena... that's 3 weeks of points on a moderate (say 1500 rating) 5v5 team. That and, fireguard isn't any better than latros for the OH due to combat potency. You'll be much better off with the area weapon. By the time you get it they will be 1.5 second delay weapons (this IS being changed next patch - confirmed by me personally if you care).
