I was thinking today (my job is mindless, so I think a lot), wouldn't it be nice if you could choose the color of your hunters mark, via interface options? i.e. instead of red it could be a choice of red, indigo, purple, blue, cyan, green, green-yellow, yellow, yellow-orange, orange, or red-orange. Also, the debuff icon would represent the new color as well.

Not only would this permit people to have a "cooler" hunters mark (I would prefer cyan, other people may want to keep it red, others may prefer green for "go", etc), it would also allow different hunters to mark different targets, similar to the raid icons or the high-level mage polymorphs.

What do you all think? A simple addition, but it would be very powerful IMO.

Eh, this may help some, but to an organized group, it won't make much a difference, that's why we have raid symbols.
I mean really, it might be cool, but lets have Blizzard adds something that needs fixing or will be more useful, say, some class abilities for every pet =P.

True, but where it would be nice is to be able to add AP to all the targets easily, if you can instantly tell your mark was overriden you can cast on another. If you're in a group where the organization is "before the pull, cast mark, if you get overriden cast it on another. We'll focus on the green, then the yellow, then the red" or something like that, it'd make it easier. Especially in pugs where everyone wants to play together but has no TS or anything.

Heh, that thought was going through my head too. But well, I doubt Blizzard will ever do it. Although they did change the look of the hunter's mark awhile back. This ability would make it easier to be organized. But right now, I'd rather have the devs focus on some other stuff now.

I'd prefer more detailed raid symbols, like a sheep icon or a zzz icon for specific targets/functions.

edit: when you said customisable i thought you meant you could pick the ranged and melee attack power ratios, that would be cool.
