Off Hand.....Follow

Whilst looking in the Hall of Ledgends to see how i could spend my Honour, I noticed an AWSOME staff. It looks preety cool you must agree. As i continued to look through the lvl 70 weapons vendor I also noticed some fist weapon which looked quite cool. I decided to start training in fist weapons. I imediatly teleported to Monglade and the flew to Darnassus where I brough the left hand and right hand fist weapons from the vendor there. As i tried to equip them I realised I could not use my off hand for fist weapons. I bagan to wonder why this was.

First of all i asked my Guildies if they had any idea why. One said they probably needed one hand free for using magic. But if this is the case then why can they use staves? Also, they can use daggers and have an item in their off hand at the same time.

Please give any reasons why this could be! I really want two fist weapons.

Wish I could just tell you you forgot something, but you just cannot have a fist weapon in your off-hand. Why? Druids cannot dual-wield. We can use random items in our off-hand, but nothing to attack with, only orbs and small decorative staves, etc.

Wielding 2 fists weapons would indeed be counted as dual-wielding since you could then attack with both hands, which is not permitted as a Druid.

Training in Fist Weapons for a Druid will simply allow him to use a fist weapon in his main hand, like he could with a dagger, and equip an off-hand item in his off-hand slot.

If it's any consolation, there are some off-hand items that look really awesome. I knew there are a few that actually look like weapons but aren't so it could confuse your opponent quite a lot. I remember seeing a Mage who seemed to be dual-wielding a sword and a staff. It was, in fact, an off-hand that looked exactly like a staff held in a single hand. (Can't remember the name though)

EDIT: Just ran a very quick search to find one of those off-hand that looks like a real staff. This is one of them. Could look pretty fun with a dagger of 1h mace in your main hand.
