I've been toying around with a Dark Pact build simply because my Destruction build seems so inefficient. I should probably go Demonology again, but I hate being so dependent on my demon being active.

Anyways, I'd like to get Ruin and Dark Pact, which is pretty easy.

However, now I'm left with 8 talent points.

Should I...

a.) Get Demonic Embrace (5/5) and Contagion (3/5)?

b.) Get Demonic Embrace (3/5), Contagion (3/5) and Improved Howl of Terror (2/2)?

c.) Forget about Ruin and Demonic Embrace all together and get Contagion (5/5), Improved Howl of Terror (2/2) and Unstable Affliction?

How important is Unstable Affliction compared to getting 9% extra stamina and Ruin? Important enough?

i say option B, once you have isntant Howl, life is pretty pleasent, Every time i use it i feel like a preist and i start giggeling.

I tryed a bunch o build after i got to 70 and option B is the one I like the best. It is not the best raider build(I know that), and it is not the best PvP build(by any streach of the immiginaion) But it clocks in highe on both casses. Where this is one of the best builds is when it comes to farming( a felguard build can be just as good). I run arround using my Mote extractor, mining up nodes and overall farming, and when it comes to this(on a Pvp server) i find the instant HoT to just be a life saver.

Oddly i rarely find myself using DP unless i am on a Raid, for some reason i slip in to the TAP/Drain mindset, but i love having it as a option.

I'll go with Option B then. I was leaning towards that one as well. I love instant Howl of Terror and while Ruin might not be amazing for an Affliction build with all the DoTs, it still makes life hell for my target when Nightfall procs.

Plus I do get 9% extra stamina from Demonic Embrace. Not a full 15%, but 9% isn't bad either. I'm wearing mostly +stamina and +spell damage so the infinite mana reserve through Dark Pact will be a welcoming change of pace.

And most importantly, I won't be completely gimped if my demon dies...

Now that I know how to spec, I could use some advice on fighting methods. Do you drain tank or drain hunt? Do you send in the Voidy and apply DoTs or do you keep the Imp out for the stamina buff and the Dark Pact sucking while you tank the mobs yourself?

Mass DoT grinding isn't an option anymore with the mobs having 5,000+ health, is it? I used to love Affliction because I could apply DoTs to 4-5 mobs and use Howl of Terror to gain distance, then wand/Nightfall them to death. Is that still a viable method in Outland?

Oh, and finally, is my gear adequate for my level and spec? I've been hiding behind Demonic Knowledge for so long I'm not used to being geared properly.

I found any method I was using before perfectly viable in Outlands.
True is some mobs have very high resistance and other weird stuff, but overall I didnt have much trouble or noticed so much difference from killing average 45 at level 45 or 70 at level 70.

Some elites are quite nasty, but considering trinket you have on, you know that already :) (Tho he is probably much easier with full team than us 2 suicidal clothies :/)
