Rogue BuildFollow

#1 Apr 29 2007 at 10:12 PM Rating: Decent
Hey, I started playing WoW last week, and I've got my Undead Rogue up to level 16. I was thinking of this as the build I was going to use for him. Any comments/critiques/suggestions?

Thanks.

I assume you are using daggers, you don't need heightened senses period, and ghostly strike will be useless to you. I recommend Imp ambush because you will be shadowstepping. Um what else... oh yeah imp sap will be given to all rogues in the next patch, so wait for that to come out, don't waste points there. You need initiative to allow for combo point buildup faster.

is my recommendation with a few variations based on what you selected; you can move around a bit of the points between Master of Deception and Elusiveness. However Elusiveness is debatable as you will have preparation. But I wish you luck, and as a side note Subtlety builds are fun, but it depends what you want to do. I recommend reading the threads here on the boards about what each build offers before you spend points and/or gold to respec your rogue.

Firstly, yes, I'm going to use daggers.

Also, thanks for the suggestions, I didn't stop to think how useful Initiative was, and for telling me that improved sap will be free soon.

As for choosing Subtlety, it is for enjoyment, I have a way better time sneaking through shadows then I do with anything else, so that's why I went that way.

One question though, how come Ghostly Strike is useless?

Thanks again.

You already have evasion and decent dodge rating at high levels so ghostly strike becomes kinda pointless for the increased dodge rating.

The main reason not to use with daggers is that ghostly strike does more damage when you are using a mace or sword since it has something to do with the normalization of weapon speed (I think) and the range of damage the weapon does. I don't know the math to it, but you have sinister strike for instant attacks. Again I am almost 70 and still feel like I don't know enough so I am giving you from my experience. But yeah from what everyone says on the forums Ghostly Strike and daggers means wasted points.

Again I strongly recommend reading the forum, and particularly Nooblesticks guide to Rogues thats at the top of the page. Very informative, and it explains each talent.
