which hand??Follow

I was wonder, what hand do you put ur weapons in? Does it depend on your dps, attack range, speed? I just need to know what i need to put in my MH and what goes in my offhand and why. Oh and also, i know daggers and swords do different kinds of damage (sustained vs burst dps) but is one actually stronger than the other??? Like does one generate more damage than another? And do daggers have better survivability or just about the same as u would using swords???
