Why do druids suck compared to warriors?Follow

#1 Apr 30 2007 at 6:05 PM Rating: Default
So I have a level 13 Nelf druid and a level 15 orc warrior. They are both decked out in greens but the Nelf does 45 less damage per white attack(In bear form).
I want to know if it is just the Nelf race or the way druids are.

(I also have a level 14 Nelf warrior: She hits for 30 damage less than my orc)

also, I want to level my druid but I just find it as boring as hell. I like rouges though so I think I will like catform. Any feedback is great :)

Well honestly your not high enough level with either job yet to judge.

If dps is what you want lvl 20 and cat form should make you happy..

First of all, you are two levels lower, which can make a difference in the "greens" you are wearing. Furthermore, a warriors damage is based on the weapon as well as attributes like strength and agil. A druid in bear form does not rely on the weapon dps what so ever, they have a different scale than a warrior. Bear form is not meant for DPS, kitty form is for the dps. Druid leveling 1-20 and then some is completely boring. You won't like it, but when you get to a higher level, especially for pounce and mangle, leveling becomes way more easy and fun.

If you think a druid tank SUCKS compared to a warrior then you dont understand how to use it. Druid bearform is not as good as a warrior and you wouldn't stand a chance taking a warr on using it, but its not supposed to be as good. The whole point of a druid is that you can be a tank, or a rogue, or a spell caster or a healer. The fact that you can switch between all 4 roles is the strength of a druid, not just sticking in 1 of them.

Clockwerk is absolutely right, you need to get your druid up alot higher than 13 to be able to appreciate it more, until you get up to 20 and get catform it's hard to appreciate the power of a druid's adaptability.

The game REALLY isn't balanced around levels 1-19. There's a small hint of balance starting at level 19, but certainly in the 13-15 range, balance is pretty much a lost cause.

Yeah 1-19 really sucked, and even when we get cat form our finishing move is a DoT. We don't get "Rogue's Evaserate" until later.

I dinged 40 last night, and it was a loooooong grind. I completed elite quest in Refugee point, I completed all the yellow quest in STV, and I still had like 5 bars left. So it took all night to hit 40. I think it was just the fact that I wanted my panther mount, Dire form, Stealth rank2 (which is really fast!).

It's not the lack of grinding, we can non-stop grind... kill 3 mobs in cat form, change to caster, cast regrowth, cat form again... rinse, repeat, all night long.

I look at Druid as FFXI's Red Mage. They can cast White mage heals (but not as good as a white mage), they can cast Black Mage nukes (but not as good / powerfull), and they can melee/tank (but not as good as the specialized melee classes).... But we can do all of those (DPS, Tank, and Heal) which others can't.

I like the different bars we get (rage, enegery, mana), it's unique for a job to have all those. You really have to like being a bear, cat, moonkin, and the flight form in outlands. I love being a DPS in a instance, getting a large pull, changing to bear form and not having anyone die.
