It was... inevitable.

We have now have bedsheets to complete the set. Thank goodness the Frozen Lego set is crappy, or I'd be putting that together too...

Added irony: my 6 year old just called me excited to say she now has Frozen shoes, with one sister on each shoe. Pink and Purple apparently. Sign of end times no doubt.

I can't keep this up entirely on my own! I'm posting every 17 days for crying out loud!

And my granddaughter is only 20 months old so we haven't gotten to Frozen yet, thank God. But I am truly sick of Peppa Pig at this point . . .

Frozen Frozen shoes. Still less geeky than the Iron Man Reeboks.

So, our latest assignment at the math course was a big one. 5 pages of analysis, at least another 10 pages of calculations, plus evaluation of the topic's practical application in teaching kids math. I thought the assignment was unusually large, so I asked my teacher what was going on. Turns out we were supposed to do it in our exam groups, but since I'm going to do the exams solo, I didn't have a group to help out with the workload.

I shortened the analysis and evaluation parts, and I may have skipped some deep math ****, but I managed to hand in roughly 10 pages at the last second. Literally. The submission deadline was 3 minutes ago.

Well, that would make it two and a half days ago then. Good luck in attaining whatever goal success in that math course makes possible.

I always liked math, but all I can remember about my ninth grade math teacher was that he was out one day and we had a substitute, and the substitute must have told him we were ill behaved because when he came back he told us he was chagrined. I remember thinking, "maybe that's a skin disease and that's why he never shaves that little spot under his chin." You don't have a little spot under your chin that you don't shave, do you?

No but I miss it sometimes when I'm in a hurry.

Also, are you people still on Eve? I'm about 4 days into a trial account, alternating between doing the Sisters of Eve questline and AFK mining. Seems like good times so far.

Hey I remember that game! It kept me in WoW an extra few months...

Is it any better now that the RMAH is gone?

The expansion and changes that went along with removing the RMAH transformed the game in my opinion. It's a ton more fun now. Get the expansion and fire it up, I'll run stuff with you if you want.

I have a couple of accounts with training queues set up in Eve but haven't actually played it for ages....

Too busy making gold on the AH in WoW. Nice to not have to pay for the game any more :)

I burned out on the RNG in D3. Blizzard buffed some legendary items in the game, but not retroactively, so I'd have to go farm all the **** one more time to actually benefit from the changes. The chance of me getting all that gear again is non-existent, because Kadala is a spiteful *****.

Back to playing WoW for a bit. Found a renewed interest in my Hunter. The new sound effects on guns, coupled with the new models, makes everything about the class awesome. Barrage + gun = machine gun. Also, looks badass.

Haven't played EVE in ages. I heard they implemented direct keyboard control of your ship, so that might interest me enough to renew my subscription once I burn out on WoW again.

Might also go back to D3, because despite Kadala being a total hag, I found that I really enjoyed playing a Monk.

Then again, I might also return to SWTOR, especially if they start doing more of those double-xp weekends.

That I'll have to look into, but my actual playtime kinda sucks these days. Most of the time I've spent in EVE has been afk-ish. I'm in the other room cleaning or doing something and my 3 year old is watching the screen and letting me know when an asteroid is done mining. Training is almost complete though, a couple more years and I'll have raised my first gold-farmer. Smiley: nod

I like the level 3 chicken, for some reason it fits perfectly.

That I'll have to look into. I'm happy to have learned how to double-click and make it move at this point (why didn't they put that in the tutorial? Smiley: oyvey ).

As someone who's also enjoyed the heck out of playing the AH, paying for game time with in-game currency is one of the most awesome things ever. Smiley: grin

You just lose touch with it after a while. I still haven't forgiven them for completely destroying the old world. Darkshore isn't Darkshore anymore, and that makes me sad. The fact you can't go back and nostalgia at the very least is a big factor.

So I wanted to try the whole harvesting planetary resources thing last night. Looked up the skills I needed online, found a guide, and started the skills training (about 3 hours worth of stuff). Then the kids came home, I got them taken care of, mined a bit in high-sec, eventually the wife came home and I could actually play the game a little. With about an hour left I thought I should get stuff together to do this. I tracked some command centers for sale (and that weren't stupidly overpriced) and bought them. Then things got interesting. well... relatively Smiley: rolleyes

1) I jumped over to the system where the command centers were to get them, then I realized they're 1000.0 size units big. Great, I don't have anything that can carry that...
2) Looked for a ship I could drive that could carry them, couldn't find one.
3) Looked for ships I might be able to drive soon that could carry them, and as luck would have it there was a Mammoth 3 systems away.
4) Tracked down a skill book for it 8 systems away, and jumped over to pick it up and start training, then went over to get the ship.
5) Realized that I hadn't trained to use Warp Core Stabilizers, and had a fear of getting pinned down with a full cargo hold at some point. (not that my cargo was uber-valuable or anything I suppose, but at some point I might be wishing I had them, and I tend to forget things...).
6) Tracked down the skill book for the stabilizers 7 systems away, and went to go pick it up.
7) Started bouncing around collecting modules for the ship: cargo extenders, stabilizers, shield extenders, etc.
8) Finally decided I wanted to invest in a shuttle for next time I'm hopping around collecting random skillbooks, so grabbed one of those too.
9) At long last it was time to jump in my ship, and I moved it to the station with the command centers and loaded it up.
10) Realized that repackaging the shuttle to move it meant voiding the insurance contract...
11) Started moving the Mammoth with cargo to my home port.
12) Jumped into a system with a system with 3-4 ships hanging out by the gate, and announcements blaring at some guy about being a criminal, and needing to leave this space or be destroyed. Gave me a bit of a nervous jump.
13) Happily left that system and continued on my merry way.
14) Finally got everything back to my home port and realized it was bed time.
15) Logged off and vowed to try out the whole harvesting planetary resources thing next time I had a chance. Smiley: lol

TL;DR = I suck at logistics.

Smiley: disappointed

You forgot one, but don't worry because I added it! Smiley: sly

And ship insurance is actually the oldest scam in the game.

Thankfully I never fell for that one, but wow I've seen it several times already. Nooby part or skillbook, at like 1/3 the normal price, sitting just one jump into low-sec. Someone was grumpy at life the other day in rookie chat because of it. I've made it a habit of going "set as destination" before I buy something and checking for orange squares in the flight path.

cynyck wrote:

I suppose I could see that. Especially when your fittings and cargo are 95% of your loss, getting that partly sum in the mail must seem like a slap in the face. Thankfully have only lost 1 ship so far, was doing a questline and wandered into a swarm of like 20 drones. They were moving too fast for my destroyer's turrets, and I only had medium drones in my drone bay. Live and learn... Smiley: rolleyes
