Cannot connect messageFollow

I crashed out of the bazaar last night and this evening I keep getting the "cannot connect...." message. I have checked the firewall settings and closed down the pcillin program.
Also checked the ddb text file for info and nothign jumps out.

Restarted comp and no change in message. The one thing I did do prior to trying to log on was to check my temp folders and delete cookies.
I can connect to this site and others and Elne Clare can load eq on her machine which is on the same network I am.

Any suggestions?

The bazaar files might have gotten corrupted. go into your EQ directory, nuke them, repatch then try logging in. should work.

I deleted the bazzar zone info and no luck. Should I also delete the log files? They are text only.
Currently trying to patch each expansion. I dont want to do a delete and reinstall. Will probably do that if the mini patch doesnt work Unless you or anyone else has another idea.

Bazaar is a tricky zone because of the log files, vendor data, etc. they could be the issue as well. couldn't hurt to nuke them.

Seems Jonwin was posting as me again plus he and kid both will be begging to use my computer tonight.

Glad it's Tuesday and NOVA is on PBS. Gives me something to do while they play EQ.

Oh and just to clarify I have deleted the bazaar files. And try to run the patcher and get the cannot connect message.
It's not a case of getting to the log in screen.

I'd try nuking everquest and reinstalling. That might do the trick. Defrag the hard drive too when you get a chance.

Just a note as things are really curious to me.
Did the defrag and deleted eq. Reloaded and still got the error message. Now here's the interesting part.
Yesterday Elne Clare was trying out some things and she was able to get eq to load under her user name on my computer, but under my user name it still wont load.
Today she may just save my files to her user and delete and then reload my user name.

I know this is an old message, but perhaps this will help other people having the same 'Http get error 28: HttpSendRequest() failed: 2' problem. I don't use EQOA, I use EQ, but the EverQuest.log file in the EverQuest directory gives the same error code (and the patcher gives the same cannot connect problem). Here's what I did to resolve it. The EverQuest patch util uses an MSIE object instead of making it's own TCP calls to the server (booo) Anyhow, I use Firefox so I didn't realize but my Internet Explorer thought I was offline... actually, that's not entirely correct, I could surf links that launched from IE's home page.. so.. IE just sucks. Try this though, fire up IE and on the URL line type in http://patch.everquest.com:7000 If it says something to the effect of "you've tested your connection to the server blah blah blah" You weren't having the same problem I had, if on the other hand it prompts your to "Connect" or "Stay Offline" select "Connect" you should then see the "You have tested your connection.. " dialog on the web site. Close out Internet Explorer and run the patch utility again. Problem should be resolved.
