FFXI disconnect problemFollow

For the last week I've been getting disconnected more frequently such that I was dc'ing about every 20 minutes last night.

I've had the game since Nov and really haven't had many problems before now. I changed to a wireless network about 3 or 4 months ago and everything has been fine...up until now.

I have a netgear 802.11g/b wireless router and a netgear USB 802.11g adapter. I'm running with an Athlon 1700 xp and a Radeon 9600XT with Windows XP.

My first thought was lag because I started experiencing the problem in Yuhtunga Jungle last week. However, the next time I logged on it happend in Batillia Downs with almost no lag. Last night it happened in my Mog House. All of the sudden the R (receive) goes to 0. It will take about 3-5 minutes for the percent to go from 100% down to about 20 or so when it finally disconnetcs. I usuall just alt-tab and I can log back in immediately.

I've tried updating my graphics drivers, changing my graphics settings, reinstalling my network drivers and virus/spyware scanning my computer and I have not been able to solve the problem. Any suggestions?

Oh, and I don't experience any of these connection problems with other software like City of Heroes or when I VPN to work (I will stay connected to work for hours without any problems).

Thanks for the suggestions. Things have gotten better, but still very sporatic. One time I'll be on for 5 hours in a row with no dc problems. The next time I'll dc a couple of times. I'm just going to get used to it. At least I'm not dc'ing every 15 minutes. I'll chalk that up to my ISP.
