Hi.
I noticed that someone was having issues with over-clocking and their computer freezing up.
I bought a 128MB GeForce 5900XT, which I guess is a card that is overclocked. It has its own little fan, and then my box has just one fan.
My computer locks up ever so often- usually when I get pop-ups while playing EQ or CoH. Sometimes I have to "push the button" to get my computer to reboot, and sometimes i just have to wait like 5 minutes for my computer to un-freeze.
I don't remember if it happened before I got my new video card.

Do you think I'm letting my system get too hot? It has happened when my computer's been off all day, and then I get on EQ for like 20 minutes. Sometimes, I can go 16 hours straight without it happening.

I have a 1.5 GHz processor with 512 MB RAM. crappy factory sound card, and the GeForce 5900XT. I play with all the fancy models turned off, but I don't know how to turn off the Luclin models... Sometimes I play two accounts on it, but it happens when I've only been playing one account, too.

Well, I do run Spybot S&D (update regularly), and I also run Norton Internet security 2004, Spyware Guard, Pest Patrol, Lavasoft's Adaware... I use Mozilla/Firefox instead of IE. I still got some nasty spyware on my computer, and I can't get rid of it. I've even paid the peeps at Norton $150 or so to help me get rid of it, and their advice is: Re-format. So, while I am close to giving up and follow their advice, I'm not quite to that point, and still attempting to get rid of it manually. I was just curious if an over clocked video card is going to melt my computer. I didn't know you could set it to measure the temp in BIOS... I'll have to research that one some more... Thanks :)
