I've tried everything I can think of for these damn things. I've run ad aware and even disabled some strange looking things on my start up menu. I'm using google toolbar and thats not working anymore either!

Traffic marketplace seems to be my most common one. Follows me to every site, not just here.

Any ideas oh great one Kao?

Yup, you've got a browser hijack. Please download Hijackthis:
http://www.spychecker.com/program/hijackthis.html

and post the log here. Do not delete anything yet.

also download and install Spybot search and destroy:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
Open it, check for updates, then press the "innoculate" button, then scan for problems, fix any it finds.

Then install spywareblaster from Javacool
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
install it, update it, and also innoculate against all and protect against known bad sites

That should get rid of most of it, the hijackthis log should show how to get rid of the rest of it.

To be honest, there is a crapload of stuff on your computer there, i'm not sure this is even going to get rid of most of it.

After you do all that, clear your cache files, cookies, temporary internet files history list

Next go to start menu/run and type ipconfig /flushdns

now run spybot again

You also appear to have the google and yahoo toolbars both installed. Is this by design? if not you can probably kill them.

if popups still appear, please post the names of them, you might also have coolweb installed, but i am not 100% sure yet.

looks like one of them reinstalled itself. Run spybot search and destroy and post here which ones, if any it finds during the scan (make sure to check for updates and install them first)

If it comes up with something that says dso exploit you can ignore that one.

ok, looks like you have coolweb and one other possibly left. First, go here, download and run coolwebshredder:

http://www.spychecker.com/program/coolwebshredder.html

Then restart your computer and run it one more time. Make sure no browser windows are open when you run it.

Next run ad aware and spybot again.

If spybot reports the DSO exploit that is actually a bug with spybot, you can ignore that. Hopefully that will get rid of the last of it. if not, post your spybot log here again and we'll see if we can find a manual way to remove the last one.

That last one is going to be tough to remove, because it keeps reinfecting.

for now, try this. Reboot in safe mode (press F8 on startup, it should bring up a menu of options, pick safe mode with networking - may take a few tries to get the timing right)

once in safe mode, go to tools:internet options. Delete files (alll offline files) delete cookies, and clear history.

Next go to start:run and type in ipconfig /flushdns

After that, run lavasoft ad aware. Click on custom scan settings and enable all the scanning options that are not greyed out. Scan.

Then run spybot search and destroy.

then run hijackthis and nuke anything in there that says search bar or looks like HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\SearchAssistant=about:blank

let me know if that does it

It's alot harder for spyware to install itself when you run a browser other than IE. Mozilla, Opera, don't have the same things in them that allow spyware programs to install themselves.

Thought I might add that this all happened when I was checking out other peoples website on www.milkandcookies.com.

I clicked on one of them and it took me to this search page (Can't remember the page :/) and it then took me to hell.

I couldn’t do anything! Every time I tried to change my homepage it changed it right back. I'd try to download something and it wouldn’t let me! Finally found a way to get rid of it but I've had these miserable pop-ups every since.

/shrug

I thought maybe this would help even though I can't remember the name of it for the life of me.

search.uk something maybe??

Figured you might have heard of it.

Ok, try this.

Go to start: run. type in regedit

Find the key folder for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Inside that folder, look for anything that says virtual bouncer, and delete those registry entries.and delete it

well shoot. Ok, let me do some more research. This one is sneaky, it's not even really showing up on your hijackthis log near as I can tell. might be these, but i'm not sure. try killing all of these in hijackthis:

C:\WINDOWS\NCLAUNCH.EXe
C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe (not sure on this one)

C:\WINDOWS\System32\Ovs0A.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\Ufqx.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\msngr1.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\msrme.exe \

after that, go update javacool and re-innoculate, then run spybot again, update, scan, nuke anything it finds, then run ad-aware. then run hijackthis again and post the log here.

Under tools: internet options: advanced disable install on demand for "other" and "internet explorer"
