FFXI/PS2 Disconnetion ProblemsFollow

I need help!!

I recently upgraded my wireless router to a Netgear WGT624. My old setup worked perfectly. Now when I play FFXI, I can only play for 20 minutes(exactly) at a time before I get the FFXI -4001 server not responding error message. I'm able to spend all day in POL though - not that I'd really want to. I'm assuming that I have to change some of the settings on my router, but I don't know where to start. I tried Netgear tech support and they had my try lowering my MTU, but that didn't work. Does anyone have any ideas?

My setup is as follows - Road Runner in to the cable modem; ethernet cable to the router; ethernet cable to the PS2 network adapter.

I was getting disconnected as much as once an hour when I had my PS2 connected in line with my router a WGR614, but only have been DC’d once when straight into my RR cable modem. It would DC when I zoned, in the middle of fights, (most often), at the Jeuno AH, or even just transversing across Le Theine or some other isolated area. Yes I would get the dreaded 4001 error. After searching low and high I found a suggestion about setting the Connection Check in the PS2’s Network Settings to “enabled.” It worked, I have not DC’d since.
