I have a very strange problem. At my apartment, I connect can connect fine to FFXI. However, whenever I try to LAN at my friend's house, I can get past PlayOnline. But when in the game, I "lag out" as in the connection at the top-right corner of the screen goes from 100% down to 0% very slowly, recieving: 0 (packets, kbits? i dunno).

I have a Compaq Presario R3000T laptop
3.0 GHz w/HT
512 MB RAM
Mobility Radeon 9600 128 MB
Windows XP
ISP: RoadRunner

Router firewall problem. I get the same thing on my LinkSys. Only thing that seems to really "fix" it is to either wait it out or bypass the router.
