FFXI, Diablo II, Neverwinter Nights, SWG ProblemsFollow

I installed FFXI, and kept getting the update error POL 1160 which i'm told means the update server is down, but i don't think that is the problem. I think the problem is on my end because i've installed Star Wars Galaxies, FFXI, Diablo II, and Neverwinter Nights and NONE of them will connect. As far as i know i am not running a firewall of any kind. I have a cable line that is split to my tv, and my cable modem. I'm running windows XP on a Pentium 4 2.4 ghz with 128 mb ram. Any help would be appreciated.
