College Firewall problems, FFXI :(Follow

I live in the dorms at a college and the firewall stops me from connecting into FFXI. I can connect into Playonline and everything else, but when i choose my character and the game starts loading, it just says "downloading data" at the bottom and nothing else happens.
I disabled and removed ALL firewall programs/configurations from my computer, and I even went to my cousins house and was able to connect there. So i know its the college firewall.
I heard there was some way i could connect by proxying through IRC or some crap like that. Could someone please help me? I really want to play.
