Hello. I have a quick question that hopefully someone will be able to help me answer.
I recently uninstalled DirectX 9.0 using an automated DirectX removal utility and suspect that it may have corrupted some of my necessary vid. card files. I'd like to just reinstall the operating system entirely but would also like to backup my installation of FFXI. If I format my system currently, will I lose my character on FFXI? Also, is there any way around having to reinstall FFXI entirely after the operating system installation completes? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Your character is safe on the server any reinstallation of the client will not effect ure character just remember ure POL username and Password. Also u can reinstall FFXI just like u installed it but u will have to wait for the updates which can take a long time.
EDIT: u do lose macro and config settings i just read somewhere

you can also save your macros with a program and put them back to FFXI after reinstall.
