Had a wierd issue arise today. Something has gone screwy with my display. It's hard to describe but there are dark horizontal bars across the screen. Not opaque, but shadowey horizontal continuations of any text or graphic that appears on the screen.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
I wasn't fiddling around with the display properties or anything, so I don't know why this would suddenly occur. I ran Adaware & a virus scan, but the issue is not resolved.
Is there anyone here who's had this problem or can diagnose it?

That don't sound good... are you on a notebook or lcd/flatscreen? How long have you had your current display? You may need a new screen, it sounds like it went bad. What about video card and system? Give me some more info and I'll see if I can help you.

Does not sound like a PC issue but more of a monitor problem.
Something similar happened to me a few years ago.
I checked that all my windows updates were current and reinstalled my video drivers, it cleared up. If your card is nvidia, make sure to use one of the removal tools on the web before reinstalling. Uninstalling nvidia drivers often leaves pieces behind.
