PS2 Online Play at Hotels/Motels - 4 Travelin ManFollow

#1 Jan 21 2005 at 10:28 AM Rating: Decent
I was curious if I would be able to take my PS2 Console with me to a hotel and use their in house high speed internet service to connect to FFXI away from home.
I am not sure if I would need to take the modem that I have to use at home that connects the boradband cable line to the ethernet cord that plugs into the PS2 adapter. The reason is because the connections at most hotels have a ethernet cord that plugs directly into laptops, and my rationalization would be that this same ethernet cord could plug directly into the PS2 adapater as it does at home.
This type of internet service in the hotel would be land-line , not wireless. Please post any answers that might help me out, and I will post my findings after my trip. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

Correct, you won't need your modem, but you might want to bring your own ethernet cord. You can plug the ethernet cord into a jack in the wall, just like a phone.

The only thing that might trip you up is if the hotel blocks some of the ports that FFXI uses. Not likely, but it could happen. I doubt the front desk could help you there.

Just don't get too stressed if you D\C alot.
