just curious about this, since i know little of the subject. if i have a computer that is supposed to have 512mb of ram, but when i right click on "my computer" it says the computer only has 3xx of ram, am i getting screwed? on an older computer of mine, also with 512mb (both are ddr sdram)right clicking "my computer" says i've got 448mb...

is this normal?

thanks for any comments. d(^_^b

Depends. If your computer has shared memory for video, it would show your system RAM as 512 minus whatever memory is used for video.
