FX-5500 drivers for FFXI

I been playing FFXI with a PCI FX-5500. I know pci is horrible but i am getting really severe lag and when i walk it seems to like jump a bit. Its very laggy esp in high lag areas like boyada tree pond area. I was leveling yesterday and it was just horrid. The messages were even coming slow on my screen. Anyways i was wondering what other drivers people used for If they have this card? I heard they can help ease the lag on it. Any help would be apprieciated.

My computer is a Dell Dimension 3000
It has a P4 3 ghz processor
512MB DDRAM
the card is a 128 bit processor
it has 128 MB of ram

I am thinking of returning hte card cuz after some discussion with people, they said that the clock speed might just be too slow. Its at 270MHZ by the way, i think the fastest one i have seen of PCI slot cards. Unless someone knows a faster one.
