I recently shipped my PC for my parents to use. But when I was setting up the PC, I ran into a few errors. The first error I had was after Windows was finished loading, the monitor would go black. This problem was the card not working correctly, video output was out of range.
I replaced the video card but now I'm seeing a new problem, I cannot change the resolution settings higher then 800x600 and lower the refresh rate from the set 85 hertz. Whenever I change the settings, the PC automatically restarts and then restarts with the origially settings.
I removed the old video card drivers, updated the latest drives for my new card. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions or can help out why I cannot change these settings.
CPU: P4 1.9M
HD: 80gig
Mem: 768Meg
O/S: Window XP
Video Card old: radeon 9800
Video Card new: radeon 9200
