Updating Error: POL-0250

I bought this game a few months ago and just now starting using it. I downloaded everything and created my own POL profile two days ago. I understand that there are about a billion updates that I need to go through, so I'm pretty patient when waiting for this to finish. But every time the updating gets from 20-53(so far) percent, I get the error: POL-0250. I played FFXI yesterday at my friends house (on my own profile) and I am really anxious to play it at my own house. Does anyone have any solutions to my problem?

You probably just need to open some ports.

I'm pretty sure we tried opening all of the ports and it didn't solve anything.

Take note of the number of files it says need to be downloaded each tim you connect. If the number goes down, just keep at it. The initial downloads are a day-long beast for games like this, and sometimes you just have to keep restarting it.

If the number is the same everytime you'll have to take a closer look at your netwrok settings.

Yea usualy when you geta POL while Updating it resumes where it left off.

I keep getting this error too, finally I plugged my ps2 into the modem and finished the update, but after turning the power off and reseting all the cords ot the proper plugs, I still get Pol 0250 and get timmed out every 5 minutes. Please help!!
