FFXI and Satellite Internet?

Just curious if anyone is playing FFXI with satellite internet. Is it any good? I am moving right away and will be down to dialup but my uncle wants to get satellite and cancel the dialup. I know FFXI plays fine on dialup because I have used it before. I am not sure at the moment which system he will be getting but any kind of info on this would be greatly appreciated.

As with any online game, upload speed is the key factor in performance. Satalite has absolute crap for upload speed. I haven't tried this game on dialup, so I can't actually make a comment on that, but I really can't imagine it would be very good.

Sattelite is poor for playing firstperson shooters where a quarter second makes alot of difference, but you can play an mmorpg just fine. FFXI has mob-claiming issues though. I don't expect you could win claim on any NMs.

Thanks for the replies. I don't camp NM's at all so it isn't a big deal. I am expecting more lag then I currently get with dsl but I have used dialup in the past and I am sure it will be faster then that. Again thanks.
