Alright, to those of you with the 6600 or 6800 lines of Nvidia cards.. are you getting this strange stutter at all?

It's not even really lag. The card usually cuts through xi without a sweat. But whenever a player model loads onscreen the game stutters for a second. Now, add a few more on at once and it starts to get a little annoying.

Anyone have any ideas?

I also have a 6600GT and I've noticed the same thing. I don't think there's a way to fix it though. I tried turning the graphics settings all the way down but that had no effect, so it seems to be a bug rather than the card being overworked...

I also use the same card on my desktop and it is working fairly fine. But i have heard lots of others, complaining about this. My Card is MSI btw.

Did you recently installed your card? If yes, are you sure you have removed all drivers of your previous card?

Also keep in mind that you should Defragment your hard drive every once in a while, not only for FFXI, but for overall maintenance.

Maybe you should try updating your video card drivers. Also email Square Enix about this. They probably recieved lots of complaints about this, and have a solution.

I actually don't know how they reply technical queries but, I remember, Activision messed with my PC for days, checked my logs, found out every single updates that my Pc needs to run Doom 3 well. Maybe SE Technical Support does this too. Its really helpful and worth trying.

I would update my drivers but if I do then XI wont run correctly. I'll get checkerboard textures, summons all pixely and laggy, ect ect. Similiar to the problem I had with my 5200FX in another thread awile ago before I was given the 6600GT card.
